Up to 117 migrants are feared dead after the dinghy they were in capsized in the Mediterranean sea. Flavio Di Giacomo, of the International Organisation for Migration, said three people were rescued by an Italian navy helicopter on Friday evening.

The three survivors said that there was 120 people on aboard when the boat left Libya, travelling towards Italy with one of them said to have been a 2-month-old baby.

The boat is said to have capsized some 10 hours into the journey.
