It’s officially Christmas in Limerick.
Large crowds attended the ‘lights on’ ceremony this evening, with flying elves putting the last few magical touches to the city’s 40 feet tall Christmas tree.
The event featured performances from Fidget Feet Aerial Dance and Realta, and was hosted by actor Louis Lovett.
Such was the number of people attending that traffic had to be stopped for 40 minutes in the city centre as crowds moved from O’Connell st. into lower Thomas st.
