17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis has been charged with ten counts of capital murder, after he shot ten people dead at Santa Fe High School yesterday.
Pagourtzis, who was a student at the facility, used two legally owned firearms to carry out the massacre.
The guns, a shotgun and a .38 revolver, reportedly belonged to his father. It is not yet clear whether or not the man knew that his son had taken the weapons.
Authorities found notes stating that Pagourtzis intended to take his own life after carrying out the atrocity. Instead, he gave himself up to the police.
This is the 22nd school shooting in the States so far this year.
