A 17-year-old male tragically drowned while swimming in Roscommon earlier today.
It is understood the young man was swimming in the marina near the village of Tarmonbarry in Roscommon when he got into difficulties.
His body was retrieved from the water a short time later, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
