A 19-year-old teenager is in a critical condition in hospital in Dublin, after being struck by a vehicle during a hit-and-run incident.
It is understood that a Seat Leon car mounted a footpath near Coolmine train station in the capital, striking the teenager and a 54-year-old man, who was also seriously injured.
The vehicle failed to remain at the scene, but it was intercepted a short time later and the driver detained.
Gardai are treating the event as an accident.
