A young woman from the UK received her last wish of marrying her partner before tragically dying of cervical cancer.

Dawn Weston who was just 24 years of age apparently consulted her GP when she was suffering from severe back pain but she wasn’t offered what would be considered a routine smear test, because doctors believed that she was “too young” to be at risk of cervical cancer.

It is understood that Ms Weston symptoms did not improve at all, so she decided to visit her GP several times complaining of her health problems, Mrs Weston was eventually given a smear test, she also underwent a biopsy, which confirmed that she had a terminal case of cervical cancer and had just months to live.

24 year old Dawn and long-term boyfriend Daniel, quickly arranged a wedding in a number of weeks so she could be granted her last wish before started chemotherapy.

Her husband Daniel said: “Dawn wanted to get married before she started gruelling rounds of chemotherapy, so she could keep her hair and some colour in her cheeks. It was a perfect day – I am so thankful I was able to fulfil Dawn’s last wish of becoming my wife,”

Sadly a few days after her dream day, Dawn underwent  intensive chemotherapy treatment, which resulted in her becoming seriously ill,  She tragically passed away four months later. Mrs Weston’s family are now petitioning the UK government to change the law so that women under the age of 25 can have routine smear tests.
