A father is suing a school district in southeast Wisconsin after his son contracted COVID-19 from a classmate.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Shannon Jensen filed a lawsuit against the Waukesha School District and the school board in federal court on October 5th. Jensen is filing an injunction directing the district to comply with COVID-19 guidelines from the U.S. Centres for Disease Control.
According to the lawsuit, in May the council lifted student masks and other measures to contain COVID-19. It’s understood that one of Jensen’s son’s classmates came to school in September with symptoms and not wearing a mask when he wasn’t feeling well. Jensen’s son was wearing a mask while he was sitting next to the sick student, but he still got infected. Jensen’s other two sons also tested positive later.
The case continues with the school refusing to comment at this stage.
