An eight-year-old girl has sustained serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash in Co. Laois.
The incident happened at around 5pm, just outside Portarlington.
The girl was travelling with her mother and five-year-old sister. It is understood the older girl is in a critical condition is hospital.
There were two other vehicles involved in the crash. The driver of one of the other cars, a young male in his 20s, was arrested at the scene.
