A Pint With A Star: Pamela Anderson willing to have a pint of Guinness with Taoiseach Enda Kenny as long as one important condition is fulfilled

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has received many invitations from high ranking political figures from across the globe over the past number years, but the Fine Gael leader has received the most unusual invitation to date recently when Hollywood actress and animal rights activist Pamela Anderson promised to have pint of Guinness with him as long as he fulfills one important condition.

The former Baywatch and Home Improvement star is apparently willing to sit down with the Taoiseach and down a pint of the black stuff as long as he pledges his support by passing a new legislation submitted by Paul Murphy TD that will see a ban imposed on circuses for using wild animals in shows performed here.

According to The Irish Mirror the actress and PETA member sent a letter to Mr Kenny outlining details about the cruelty that defenceless animals suffer whilst being forced to perform in traveling shows.

The surprising letter comes after a number of TD’s along with animal rights groups submitted a petition calling for the ban on using wild animals in circuses here.

The paper claims that Anderson is an avid campaigner and is known to write to many political figures worldwide calling on them to introduce laws that will protect wild animals.

In the letter sent on behalf of PETA the Hollywood star said the following: “Animals in circuses never benefit from ‘the luck of the Irish.’ Instead, they’re denied everything that is natural and important to them.

“Today, most decent people see animal circuses for what they are: cruelty.

“I truly hope Ireland seizes this opportunity to implement a national ban and joins the ever-growing list of countries that have banished this archaic form of so-called entertainment.

“I would love nothing more than to raise a glass of Guinness (I hear it’s vegan now!) with you when that day arrives.”

It is not yet known whether or not Mr Kenny has responded to Anderson’s invite, but surely its an invitation he will have to consider if the Bill manages to be passed in the Dáil.
