Fianna Fáil’s latest Bill on mental health submitted before Dáil has been passed with out contest this afternoon.
The latest Bill which will see provisions being set that will allow mental health patients greater rights to the current services available.
Speaking about the Bill’s passing Fianna Fáil health spokesman James Browne said he welcomed its passing and the contributions during the debate had been passionate.
The move has also been welcomed by mental health advocacy groups who say the passing of the Bill is a step in the right direction in providing better care for patients.
It is now understood the Bill will go before the Seanad in the coming weeks ahead.
