A teenage boy has been arrested for stabbing 17-yr-old Reece Cullen to death in Dublin yesterday

17-yr-old Reece Cullen was pronounced dead yesterday after he was rushed to Tallaght hospital with stab wounds.

The boy was stabbed near his home in Johnstown at 3:30pm yesterday afternoon but gardai made no arrests.

However, this morning at 7pm, a teenage boy handed himself into Tallaght garda station where he was arrested for the murder of Reece Cullen and will where he’ll be held for 24 hours before he’s either charged or released.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí have arrested a male juvenile in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred at Kilclare Crescent, Jobstown, yesterday afternoon Thursday 5th January, 2017 at approximately 3pm.

“The male was arrested in the Tallaght area this morning, Friday 6th January 2017 shortly after 7am. He is currently detained at Tallaght Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.”
