A woman has allegedly been racially abused and assaulted by Muslim men outside Blanchardstown Mosque

A Blanchardstown woman has allegedly been racially abused and physically assaulted by a group of Muslim men outside of a Mosque near Blanchardstown IT.

The local woman was cycling when she came upon a huge group of men leaving the Mosque on Friday, which was the last day of the Islamic month of Ramadan, when she asked them to move out of the cycle lane one man, believed to be in his 50’s, began to scream at her and call her a “stupid woman”.

Another man thought to be in his 20’s then joined the aggressive racist and misogynistic abuse. During the incident the younger man continued to screech “stupid white woman” while a Muslim woman mockingly laughed at the distressed victim.

Terrified and distraught the Irish woman attempted to cycle away when the older Muslim man, who began the confrontation, grabbed her and threw her from her bike down an embankment on the side of the road and in front of the oncoming traffic.

Most of massive Muslim crowd just ignored the injured woman and continued on their way. Two members of Fingal County Council then came to the woman’s aid and called the Gardai and an ambulance.

In the end the woman’s husband collected her and they then headed to Blanchardstown Garda Station, as the Gard’s did not arrive. To add insult to injury the woman was unable to give a statement as the Gardai in Blanchardstown Station were too busy to take one.

The Imam of the Mosque apologised and said he will speak to the man if he finds him.

This comes at a time when a new mega-Mosque and Islamic complex development has been given the go-ahead by the council to be built in the area despite the opposition of the overwhelming majority of local residents and concerns over traffic and noise pollution.
