Abortion for any reason up to 3 months by the New Year as Dail delays break to pass legislation

The Dail will delay its Summer break this year in order to fast track legislation allowing abortion on demand after the success of the referendum to Repeal the 8th Amendment.

After the repeal of the constitutional amendment protecting the right to life of pre-born babies the government will now have carte blanche to pass whatever legislation they see fit and can amend that legislation at any time without ever having to consult the people again.

Minister for Health Simon Harris has said he will meet with opposition leaders in the Dáil and the HSE to plan how to make abortion on demand available as soon as possible.

Leader of the Solidarity Party Ruth Coppinger has already called on the legislation that was proposed during the campaign to persuade the electorate to vote ‘yes’ to be further liberalised including the removal of the 72-hour waiting period for an abortion.

It is thought that the legal aborting of Irish babies will begin to take place on Irish soil for first time in history by this Christmas.
