Abortion on demand up to 12 weeks – Varadkar set to campaign hard for abortion

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar made his thoughts very clear on the Eighth Amendment late last night in a press conference along with 31-yr-old Minister for Health Simon Harris and American-born Katherine Zappone.

The trio came out hard for abortion on demand up to 12 weeks. Stuttering through most of the speech, Varadkar acted like a scared schoolboy when it came to press questions.

He, along with Harris and Zappone made one very clear however; they all want abortion on demand up to 12 weeks without any exception or any reason needed.

Varadkar’s comments have been met very harshly by the Fine Gael grassroots who claim the Castleknock TD has done a complete and utter U-Turn on the issue over the past 2 years.

Harris is said to have sworn blind that he was fully pro-life to his constituents prior to the two last elections.

The date for the referendum on the Eighth Amendment, the amendment that states the unborn baby has an equal right to life as its mother, has not yet been confirmed but it appears to be late May or early June.
