Dublin City Council last night announced plans to erect not one but two statues to commemorate The Dubliners singer Luke Kelly.
Kelly, who died in 1984 at the age of 43, was a native of the Irish capital. A park in his name is now sited in Dublin’s Docklands.
The locations for the two statues are yet to be decided, but Luke’s family are keen on erecting one close to St. Stephen’s Green and a second one in South King St., near the monument to Phil Lynott on Harry St.
