Tragically a 13-yr-old boy has has died following a crash on Clare Island off the coast of Co Mayo.
The name of the young man has been given locally as Morgan Pinder the island.
It’s understood that he died when the car he was driving crashed into a ditch at The Quay at approximately 1am this morning.
He was the only person involved in the crash and his body has been taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact Westport Garda Station on 098-50230, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 66-61-11, or any garda station.
