Adams under pressure as a number of Sinn Fein party members call for him to step down as leader

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams has come under increased pressure this morning as a number of sources say many within the party want him to step down as leader in the Republic Of Ireland.

It is believed many party members want Mr Adams to step aside and retake his role as ‘honorary vice president’ in order for the party to expand south of the border.

The move comes after Cavan Sinn Fein cumann claimed that Mr Adams stepping down would be a “very significant” step for the party.
