Celebrating Halloween at the White House has been a longstanding tradition. There’s endless decorations, food and fun for all who attend the annual affair.

The Halloween celebrations at the White House began around 1950 with the Eisenhower administration. Although it was a pretty small get together for staff and personal friends, it has since evolved into a very large scale event.

Politics aside, President Barack Obama has welcomed in trick-or-treaters from local schools, as well as inviting children of men and women who have served the nation in the military.

This year saw a very special VIP guest… in the form of a miniature Pope Francis!

The popular Pontiff had an immensely successful Papal visit to America just last month. He visited Washington, New York and Philadelphia. All three cities were shut down and more than 3 million people came out to see the Pope.

This inspired one man to dress himself as a Papal secret service operative and his baby as… Pope Francis, accompanied by his very own baby Popemobile!

The President even said the costume got the “top prize” while telling others, “that’s the Popemobile!” and he kept shouting as “Pope Francis” was driving away… “That’s the top prize!”.
