The 12 new recruits, who come from Ireland, the UK, and Germany, will embark in a 14-month long training course starting at the end of January. The training will take place at the facilities of FTE Jerez, a flight training school based in Jerez, Spain.
The course includes five months of ground school, followed by basic flying lessons on single and multi engine aircraft, and on flight simulators.
If the cadets are successful in the course, they will receive their wings and begin flying as co-pilots on Aer Lingus aircraft.
A cadet starting salary is circa 40K.
