ALERT: Gardaí in Balbriggan issue warning to parents after two abduction attempts in the town




Gardaí in Balbriggan Co Dublin have issued a warning to parents to be extra vigilant after there were two abduction attempts on young children in the town over the past two weeks.

The warning comes after a young boy was approached by a man on January 30th. It is understood the young boy aged 13, was approached by a man whilst he was walking to school on the Castleland Park link road, at approximately 7.30am and 7.45am on January 30th.

Meanwhile a second incident in the town has also been reported online. Gardaí say they are currently investigating the incidents and are urging parents to be extra cautious.

A Garda spokesperson has said the suspect a man believed to be driving a black car offered to drop the 13 year old boy to school. “He refused the offer and it is alleged the man approached the teenager, the male youth then ran away and reported the incident to his school and then Balbriggan Garda Station,” he added.
