A pair of killer whales have been spotted just off the Kerry coastline.
The animals have been positively identified as part of a pod which usually prowls around the Scottish Hebrides.
The orcas were seen just off Blasket Islands in Kerry, a location rich in seals. Whale enthusiasts believe that the orcas, which are rarely seen this far south, may have ventured to these latitudes because of diminishing prey around their natural habitat in northern waters.
