Ambulance crew are suspended after declining to transfer child patient to Dublin at the end of their 12 hour shift




An ambulance crew in Cork have been suspended from duty after they declined to transfer a patient to Dublin earlier this week.

It is understood the crew were suspended after they declined to transfer the patient which is believed to be a child from Cork to Dublin.

Confirming the news the Psychiatric Nurses Association, said the crew have been suspended pending an investigation.

They also say the crew were suspended after they declined to transfer the patient citing safety as a concern.

It is believed that the crew declined the transfer as they were finishing a 12 hour shift and believed it would be unsafe to travel the distance.

The PNA say the patient was transferred by another ambulance crew on the same day.

The HSE say the National Ambulance Service (NSA) is currently investigating the case.
