Social media was astounded at the composure of Vicky Phelan on last night’s Ray D’arcy Show.
An emotional, honest and sincere, Vicky Phelan spoke candidly on last night’s Ray D’Arcy show about her horrendous misdiagnosis from a smear test.
Vicky said she took a smear test in 2011 and between mismanagement and misdiagnosis, she was unaware she had cancer for many years.
Eventually she felt very unwell and following many more tests, Vicky was told that she tragically has terminal cancer, something that would be prevented if she had been properly diagnosed in 2011.
With a positive attitude, Vicky is still determined that she will beat the cancer and that some sort medication will work.
On Wednesday, Vicky was awarded €2.5 million from the State which she says she’ll try to use to recover.
Vicky’s persistence and determination to beat her cancer deserved a standing ovation and judging by social media, Ireland gave it to her.
