An Post have confirmed recently that they will issue a new stamp into circulation to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.
The infamous battle during World War I which saw many Irish soldiers bravely lose their lives as part of the Alley forces will now be honoured 100 years on. An Post say the stamp has already been issued and will be used for international postage.
The historic stamp shows an image of the Royal Irish Rifles that is currently on display at Britain’s Imperial War Museum in London.
