On last night’s Late Late Show, retired District Court Judge Gillian Hussey spoke about the friendship she has with ex-criminal Paul Mahon.
Paul spoke about the many times he appeared in front of Gillian in the District Court for everything under the sun, including burglary.
However, 10 years ago Paul managed to see the light and turn his life around.
The pair met again at rehabilitation organisation Tiglin – a rehabilitation course.
Stranger things may happen but this certainly is one of the most bizarre. The pair struck up a great friendship and meet regularly for lunch.
Gillian said that although Paul had done bad things in the past, we all make mistakes and he’s not a bad person and is allowed to change. What a good feel good story.
