Most of the country enjoyed a day of glorious sunshine today, with temperatures hitting low 20s in most places. Some thundery downpours did cause localised flooding in parts of Cork, however.
The trend is for fine and warm weather to continue through the coming week and possibly into the Bank Holiday Weekend. Thermometers are expected to mark low to mid 20s is most places.
Though there may be some light rain falling in the east of the country on Wednesday, the general prediction is for dry weather all around.
Thursday is likely to be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures of 24C possible at times.
