Staff at Dublin Zoo have sadly confirmed that one of the zoo’s most loved Gorilla’s has died following a mystery illness.
In an announcement made today a spokesperson for the zoo said 35-year-old Lena sadly passed away last month. They also say the Gorilla who had been housed at the zoo since 1988 recieved constant care when she became unwell.
The much loved Gorilla had given birth numerous of times of the years with her most recent being in 2016.
Dublin Zoo say they are currently awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination in order to dertermine the cause of her death.
