An 80-year-old man has died and another has been seriously injured after after a road accident in Kilkenny yesterday.
The fatal accident occurred at 4:30 pm, when two vehicles collided on The N77 Kilkenny-Ballyragget Road at Jenkinstown.
The 80-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny.
The occupant of the second vehicle, a 59-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Waterford University Hospital. His condition is described as stable.
Road has since reopened.
