Anti-water charge protesters block Education Minister from leaving a school premises

The ongoing fight against water charges continues on, as the people of Ireland continue to show defiance on a daily basis.

Today, Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan was delayed for about 40 minutes at Gaelcolaiste Reachrann in Donaghmede, as protesters hampered her movements.

Protesters blocked the school’s main exit, while another group stood at a different entrance, so the minister had to remain inside her car.

Ms. O’Sullivan is the latest senior government minister to be targeted by anti-water charge protesters, and this is the latest in a series of water-charge related incidents this week.

On Monday, a Cork City Council meeting had to be suspended after protesters stormed the chamber, and on the same date, protesters gathered outside the house of Fine Gael TD in Meath.
