According to a new report compiled by children’s charity Barnardos child homelessness increased by 55% last year.
The alarming figures come after the report found that in total there were 2,505 children without a stable home in December. The figure marks a stark increase as there were 1,616 registered homeless in December 2015.
The appalling figures has led to the charity to call the Government to intervene and help struggling parents.
The charity say more must be done after recent figures found that adult homelessness across the country has risen by 28%.
