According to latest figures published by the Simon Community it is expected that in total there will be nearly 7,000 people sleeping in emergency accommodation this Christmas Day.
The alarming figure comes after a recent report found that the housing and homeless charity supported almost 8,300 people who are currently homeless this year.
The charity say that further action must be undertaken to address the issue as figures are on the rise each year, the charity als say they are desperately trying to support those who will sadly be sleeping rough all across the country this Christmas.
