A explosive device believed to be a mine from World War II has been found off the Co Cork coast.
The rather unusual discovery was made on Wednesday evening when a fisherman brought the device ashore in Kinsale.
It is understood personnel from the Irish Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team were called in to make the device safe.
Thankfully following an examination of the device the area in Kinsale Harbour was declared safe by army bomb disposal experts.
