Army bomb disposal experts called into make World War II mine safe after it is found off the Co Cork coast

A explosive device believed to be a mine from World War II has been found off the Co Cork coast.

The rather unusual discovery was made on Wednesday evening when a fisherman brought the device ashore in Kinsale.

It is understood personnel from the Irish Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal┬áTeam were called in to make the device safe.

Thankfully following an examination of the device the area in Kinsale Harbour was declared safe by army bomb disposal experts.
