Gardaí and the Irish Army have confirmed that two viable improvised explosive devices had to be removed from a house in Drogheda on Thursday night.
It is understood the devices which were later disposed at safe site were found inside a house in the Moneymore housing estate late last night.
Gardaí say fifteen houses in total had to be evacuated after the alarm was raised at approximately 10:30pm.
After an extensive search of the property the army explosives unit declared the proper safe at around 11:40pm.
Gardaí say an investigation is underway in order to determine how the devices were left at the premises.
