Arnotts department store bought by international retail group Selfridges

It has been announced today that Arnotts department store has been taken over by International Retail Group, Selfridges.

One of Irelands’ oldest department stores, Arnotts, was founded in 1843 and is located on Henry Street, Dublin City centre.

Selfridges is owned by Canadian billionaire and entrepreneur Galen Weston and his Irish wife Hilary Weston. The pair also own Brown Thomas. 

In a statement today Selfridges managing director Paul Kelly said: “Our priority will be to build on the legacy of this great Irish brand. We will look to enhance the customers experience while cherishing Arnotts unique heritage”.
