The National Museum of Ireland have confirmed that a number of ancient artifacts have been found in Co Donegal.
It is understood the artifacts which includes a set of arm sized gold rings believed to be from the bronze aged were found during an excavation dig at a site in the county.
Speakiing about the discovery the National Museum of Ireland described the find as very significant.
The Museum also confirmed that the artifacts will be transferred to the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin, where an examination process will take place.
It is expected that the artifacts will be put on display to the public in the near future.
