Artist and former TV presenter Kevin Sharkey wants to tackle the current homeless crisis by becoming Ireland’s next President

Former Television presenter and personality Kevin Sharkey has revealed that he would like to become the future President of Ireland.

In an announcement on Monday Mr Sharkey revealed that he fully intends to run for the Aras and he hopes to become Ireland’s first black president.

The Dublin born man who was raised in Donegal, also revealed that he is currently in the process of setting up a team and that he intends to speak with a number of TD’s and councils over the next few months in an effort to seek their nomination.

Mr Sharkey who is also an artist stated that the current homelessness crisis is one of the major reasons as to why he is considering running for the top position in the Aras.

The former former Television presenter said he fully believes that the office of President should do more to tackle the current crisis, and that although he considered the prospect of running for a seat in the Dail, he fully believes he could achieve more if he was elected President of Ireland.
