There has been a number of calls made recently to increase the safety at a Dublin railway line after a three-year-old and his father were tragically over the weekend.
The calls come after another young child died in similar incident at Ashtown a number of years ago. Both tragic accidents has prompted local councillor Brendan Carr to issue a plea to Dublin City Council and Iarnród Éireann to address the issue, Mr Carr said: “I’d like to offer my support to the families affected by this because there is a terrible tragedy which has stopped the whole area.”
“We’d be calling on Iarnród Éireann and the City Council to sit down, and we’ve asked them this before, for both parties to sit down at this stage and come to some resolution for this particular part of this track.”
