The Afghan migrant who stabbed two American tourists in Amsterdam has told police that he was motivated to carry out the atrocity because of “insults to Islam”, the UK Daily Mail reports.
The suspect who been identified as Jawed S. (19), an asylum seeker from Afghanistan, travelled by train from Germany where he was living before savagely attacking two people at Amsterdam’s Central Train Station.
The Muslim terrorist did not attack the two people based on the nationality but instead engaged in the random stabbings because of his grievances with the Netherlands, where Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, had planned a cartoon drawing contest where people would draw the Islamic Prophet Mohammed.
Mr Wilders tweeted in response to the attack “Muslim terrorists hate our way of life and our freedoms. They answer criticism of Islam with violence.”, the Washington Post reports.
