An estimated eight migrants landed on a beach near Dover early on Sunday morning with some said to have fled before emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
It’s understood that the migrants endured severe cold as they made their way across the channel over the weekend.
Footage of the landing appeared on social media and showed up to eight people on board a small dinghy, which was being towed by a Border Force patrol vessel.
One onlooker said that the migrants looked freezing and were given blankets by fishermen. At least three of them ran off before emergency services arrived at the scene.
