Shoppers in Claremorris, Co. Mayo, got an unexpected cash bonus from an Ulster Bank ATM last Thursday, when the machine started spewing €50 notes instead of €20.
The word spread rapidly and a queue formed down the street. The ATM handed out thousands of euro in a short space of time.
But Ulster Bank officials stated that they are aware of this error, and will soon be contacting the customers who ‘availed’ of this cash bonanza.
