Attack of the seagulls Down Under: Diners forced to arm themselves with water pistols to fend off marauding seagulls

The seagull offensive may have eased off across Irish shores for now, but the pesky birds have not yet given up their relentless fight against mankind. Now, they have switched their attack pattern to Australia.

The situation around the popular Hillary’s Boat Harbour area in Perth, Australia, recently became unbearable for humans as libertine seagulls began to congregate around the bars and restaurants sited on the marina, their beady eyes fixed on the food scraps left behind by diners.

Business owners noticed that customers were staying away due to the presence of the birds, so they pooled resources together to fight back against the winged invaders. Now, every customer is provided with a water pistols to scare off the animals.

The non-lethal tactic appears to be keeping the seagulls at bay thus far.
