Attention Wine Lovers: Extensive research finds that drinking a glass or two of wine a night can actually make you lose weight

After a long day you may like to sit back and relax on the sofa with a nice glass of wine to unwind from the daily stress.

However as you may know many of us question whether or not this form of relaxation could actually be damaging our health.

Well you maybe happy to hear that the occasional glass or two of vino is actually good for your figure as researchers in the US have found that drinking wine can actually make you slimmer.

According to researchers at Harvard University those who drink a glass or two of wine each day greatly reduced their risk of becoming obese compared to those who didn’t.

The thirteen year research also discovered that drinking the alcoholic beverage could potentially reduce the chances of a person developing type 2 diabetes as the drink increased the levels of HDL, which is considered to be a less harmful form of cholesterol.

Researchers say the study found that almost 70% of the 20,000 participants over the last thirteen years had improved health and were less likely to gain weight if they drank a glass or two of wine at night.

They also claimed the high calorie content in each glass kept people fuller for longer which therefore decreased the urge for indulging in fatty foods.

It is also claimed that wine has key ingredient that contains resveratrol which is phenol that is normally found in plants and grapes.

Scientists say resveratrol not only protects plants from fungi, but it also stops fat cells from gaining more fat therefore it makes people gain less weight.

Although the research was compiled to conclude the effects had by drinking a glass a wine each night, scientists say people should remember to drink in moderation as over indulgence will most likely cause severe health problems in the near future.

They also say those who are considering using the findings as dietary plan should remember that persistent alcohol abuse could have an adverse reaction on not only their liver but their overall health and well-being.
