The Irish-Australian community are up in arms over comments made an Australian politician used hard words to raise awareness for a so-called scam warning.

Marlene Kairouz is Minister for Consumer Affairs in the Parliament of Victoria. She gave a press conference to raise awareness about a campaign launched about unlicensed tradesmen.

Ms Kairouz said at the event that: “If anybody knocks on your door that has an Irish accent, automatically ask them to leave.”

There’s been a wave of criticism aimed towards Ms Kairouz over her remarks and she has been forced to issue an apology on Twitter.

What’s your thoughts on what Ms Kairouz said?
