Authorities in Greece say new evidence suggests that wildfires were started deliberately as the death toll now reaches 85




Authorities in Greece say they have received significant evidence that indicates the recent wildfires that claimed the lives of 82 people may have been started deliberately.

According Greece’s Public Order Minister Nikos Toskas, latest satellite imaging has provided images that indicates that the wildfires were started intentionally.

The startling revelation comes as 85 people were killed and hundreds more were injured in the fires which rapidly swept through a number of coastal towns and villages outside Athens.

In what has been described as one of the country’s worst ever wildfires, authorities are currently working hard in order to identify some those who were killed in the devastating disaster.

According to number of reports in the Greek press, officials have enlisted the help of German forensic experts in order to identify the remains of those who were killed in the fires.

It is believed that a number of the victims of the fires were that badly burned their bodies are currently beyond recognition.

Meanwhile authorities say they are working hard to find survivors of the fires as they were forced to frantically flee their homes in order to escape the raging fires.
