The pale semblance of the summer we had is now gone, as the Autumn chill begins to take hold.
The forecast is for the thermometer to sink to single figures at night, as low as 6C in places. Low temperatures may give rise to localised fog and mist banks, which may pose a risk to early morning commuters.
Daytime temperatures will be markedly warmer, with the thermometer reaching 16-19C in some areas over the coming weekend.
