Awkward and uncomfortable: Australian man sues airline company for placing him between two obese people for 14 hour flight

American Airlines company is facing a lawsuit after an Australian man sued the company for damages after they placed him between two obese people on a 14 hour flight.

According to The Daily Telegraph the man at the centre of the rather strange lawsuit, 67-year-old Michael Anthony Taylor, has claimed the airline company caused him serious medical problems after he was forced to ‘crouch, kneel, brace, or stand’ for a good chunk of the flight from Sydney to Los Angeles.

Mr Taylor claims the airliner’s refusal to change his seat caused him back and neck injuries due to his ongoing “exacerbated scoliosis”.

Mr Taylor told the paper: “I don’t hold any malice towards the people in the seats next to me.”

“They’d paid for a ticket too. The airline could have put me in a crew seat or moved people around but they did nothing.”

Meanwhile Mr Taylor’s legal representatives hope that if his case is successful, seating arrangements on airliners will be changed in the future.
