Irish Rail say they hope to have their services fully operational by this afternoon.
The announcement comes after the country was subjected adverse weather conditions which were caused by Storm Emma on Thursday and Friday.
In a statement Irish Rail say they plan on having the vast majority of their services up and running by 12pm this afternoon.
The company say an official announcement will be made later today once checks have been carried out on rail lines.
They also have reminded people to check the Irish Rail website before travelling as a number of trains may yet be cancelled.
