According to a latest poll carried out by the Sunday Times, the Sinn Fein party are the second most popular party in the country overtaking Fine Gael.
The poll which will make for bad reading for Enda Kenny and his colleagues shows that Fianna Fail remain the most popular party in the country with 28%.
However the biggest surprise comes as Gerry Adams party Sinn Fein, closed the gap to sit second on 23% after they gained a healthy four points.
The poll will surely not sit well with Fine Gael as the current government party fall to third on 22% after gaining one point.
The poll was undertaken in the week running up to March 8th.
