There was bad news for SSE Airtricity customers this week as the company confirmed that electricity prices will be increased from November 1st.
The announcement comes after the company revealed they will have to increase prices in order to cover spiralling costs.
In a brief statement explaining their decision SSE said the increase which will be in the region of 5.6%, has been implemented in order to cover high operational costs including network charges and wholesale energy.
However the second biggest electricity provider in the country said the increase will only apply to those who use a direct electricity supply and not to those who use Pay-As-You-Go meters.
It is thought the latest increase could see the average customer spending an extra €4 per month on top of their current bill.
