Bad news for those looking to Rent a home as latest figures reveal Rent prices are now higher than they were at the tail end of the boom

There is more bad news for those who are currently looking for a home to rent as latest figures reveal that rents prices in Dublin have increased to rates quoted at the tail end of the boom.

The latest figures show that an average two bedroom house in the Dublin suburbs have increased by 11% on average compared to this time last year.  

According to figures published by daft.ie, regions such as Dublin 22,  Dublin 13, Dublin 18 and Dublin 20 showed an significant increase compared to properties elsewhere in the capital.

The report also found that the average cost of renting a home in Dublin is now €1,464 per month. Meanwhile the average cost for renting a home in Cork is now €1,003 per month, with Galway averaging out at €900, whilst in Limerick it is €792.

The report also revealed that the average cost of rent across the rest of the country is €708.
